Who run the world? Divas.

So far, this week has been great for me *knock on wood*. Aside from having a two-day work week and getting to eat lots of turkey on Thursday- Nicki Minaj and Rihanna both released their new albums on Monday. I couldn’t be more thrilled.

Nicki Minaj was a showstopper in her Monique Lhuillier dress at the 2012 AMA awards. I admit that I had my doubts about the pop-rap minx when I heard her “Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded” album. I didn’t feel she was truly being her raw, rapper self. Minaj’s new album, “Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded — The Re-Up,” makes for a perfect blend of her pop side with her fresh, razor-sharp raps. It conveniently comes in two discs. The first disc has the nineteen tracks from her previous album, “Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded,” and the second disc has the eight brand new tracks, including my personal favorite, “Hell Yeah” featuring Parker Ighile; Nicki’s newest and first artist. The pure combination of his melodic voice, the island drums and Nicki’s raw persona is absolutely genius! I’m definitely guilty of having “Hell Yeah” on #repeat every day of this week- if you don’t believe me, check my Spotify.

Rihanna’s new album, Unapologetic, is refreshing and her new sounds are inspiring. Not to mention, this is her seventh album in seven years! A great achievement- in terms of quality. Rihanna continues to surprise and delight us with her lyrics and somehow always knows what we want to listen to in any occasion. She has always been there to fulfill our cravings for fashion and music.
